外国人がずっと日本で暮らしていくことができるようになる永住権。この資格を取るのが憧れの外国人も多くいらっしゃいますが、年々取得するのが難しくなっているという事実があります。法務大臣の裁量が大きい申請です。

Foreigners are allowed to live in Japan forever with “Permanent residence”. But the requirements are getting stricter year by year. The Minister of Justice has a great deal of discretion when applying for Permanent Residence.

在留期限がなくなる Eternal period of stay	＊在留カードは7年ごとに更新が必要（手続きを忘れたら、1年以下の懲役または20万円以下の罰金）＊But Residence card must be renewed every 7 years. (If you forget the procedure, you will be punished.) ・離婚しても日本に住める After divorce, you can live in Japan.
活動の制限がなくなる No restrictions on activities	・どんな仕事もできる（企業もしやすい） You can do any job. ・仕事を辞めても日本にいられる　 You can stay in Japan even after quitting a job.
配偶者や子どもも永住権を取りやすくなる It will be easier for your spouse and children to get a permanent residence.	配偶者：結婚してから3年かつ1年の日本在留 Spouse : 3 years after marrige and 1 year staying in Japan 子ども：日本で暮らしてから1年 Children : 1 year staying in Japan
信用度が高まる Increase credibility	例：住宅ローン等が組みやすくなる ex) It makes it easier to get a mortgage.

収入要件 income	単身者（就労ビザ）の場合、目安として、直近5年間の年収（給与収入等）が毎年300万円程度 Anual income for the last 5 years : at least ￥3,000,000 家族1名につき、70～100万円の追加 Additional ￥700,000 or more per family member 在留資格の種類によって、審査の年数が変わります/ The number of years of examination varies depending on the type of status of residence. ・就労ビザ normal working visa　→　直近5年間 last 5 yrs ・日本人や永住者の配偶者等ビザ spouse of Japanese or Permanent Resident visa　→　直近3年間 last 3 yrs ・高度専門職ビザ（70pt）highly professional(70pt)　→　直近3年間 last 3 yrs ・高度専門職ビザ（80pt）highly professional(80pt)　→　直近1年間 last 1 yr 世帯年収で満たしていればOK It’s OK if you meet with your annual household income 〇就労ビザ×就労ビザ　〇working visa × working visa 〇就労ビザ×日本人配偶者〇working visa × spouse of Japanese ×就労ビザ×家族滞在ビザ（世帯年収は不可） ×working visa × independent visa 産休・育休の間、年収が300万円に満たない場合は、不許可になる可能性が高いので、収入が300万円以上が5年続いてから申請すべき If your annual income is less than ￥3,000,000 during maternity or childcare leave etc., there is a high possibility of being denied, so you should apply after meeting the criteria.
居住要件 Length of staying	原則　In principle 日本滞在期間が10年以上 the period of stay in Japan is 10 years or more そのうち、直近5年は正規の就労ビザで働いている（技能実習、特定技能１号を除く） You need to work with a regular working visa for the last 5 years out of ten years ＜日本人の配偶者等ビザ・永住者の配偶者等ビザ / Spouse or Child of Japanese National or Permanent Resident＞・結婚3年以上＆日本滞在期間が1年以上 Marriage for 3 yrs or more & staying in Japan for 1 yr or more ・子どもは、日本滞在期間が1年以上 Staying for 1 yr or more for children ＜定住者ビザ / Long-Term Resident＞・日本滞在期間が5年以上 Staying for 5 yrs or more ・日本人と離婚して定住者を取得した場合は、日配ビザ＋定住者ビザの期間が通算して5年間 5 yrs in total for Japanese spouse＋Long-Term Resident(in case of divorce) ＜高度専門職ビザ / Highly Professional＞・80pt　：　日本滞在期間が1年以上（永住申請時に80点以上を維持）Staying for 1 yr or more ・70pt　：　日本滞在期間が3年以上（永住申請時に70点以上を維持）Staying for 3 yrs or more 日本人の配偶者だけど、就労ビザの方 →実態を伴っていれば、配偶者ビザと同様の条件を満たすとみなされる the foreigner who is a Japanese spouse but staying with working visa →It is considered to meet the same conditions as a spouse visa.
出国日数	連続して3カ月以上日本を出国したことがないこと never left Japan for more than 3 months in a row 1年のうち合計で100日以上日本を出国したことがないこと（120日で通る場合もある） never left Japan for mothe than 100 days in total in a year
在留期間	在留期間の記載が3年以上である The period of stay is 3 years or more. 在留期間が1年の場合は不可 Not possible if the period of stay is one year
社会保険等	年金（直近2年分）・税金（直近５年分）・健康保険を滞納・遅延なく支払いを行っていること Payment of pension(for the last 2 years), tax(for the last 5 years), and health insurance without delinquency or delay. 年金の社会保障協定海外で働く日本人や日本で働く外国人の年金の二重加入を防ぐための二国間での協定。その国で加入していた期間を自国の年金に加入していたとみなす制度です。＜協定が発行済みの国＞インド・ドイツ・イギリス・フランス・アメリカ等
素行・在留条件	懲役・禁固がないこと→出所後10年の経過 No imprisonment 罰金刑がないこと→支払い後5年の経過 No fines 執行猶予→満了後5年の経過 No suspended sentence 拘留→5年の経過 No detention 軽微な交通違反（一時停止違反・駐車違反等）→直近5年で５回、直近2年で3回 Miner trafic offence→less than 5 times in the last 5 yrs and 3 times in the last 2 yrs 飲酒運転・無免許運転・20km超えのスピード違反→1回でも明らかな故意とみなされる。罰金等の支払い後5～10年の経過 No intentional trafic offence 過去のオーバーワークやオーバーステイ（家族があっても×） No overwork or overstay in the past
身元保証人 Guarantor	日本人または永住者に限られる Japanese or Permanent Resident only 相応の収入がない場合は、責任能力がないと判断され、身元保証人として認められない場合がある If the guarantor don’t have areasonable income, he might not be recognized as a guarantor. 法的な強制力はなく、道義的なもの Not legal but moral responsiblity

永住申請の場合、審査結果が出るまでオーバーステイにならないという特例がないため、今持っている在留資格の期間が過ぎてしまう場合は、現在の在留資格の期間更新の申請をする必要があります。
There is no special case that you will not be overstayed until the examination result is obtained, so if your current status or residence expires, you need to apply to extend your current status of residence.
